EDSA LRT Station (sometimes called Edsa - Taft Rotonda or Pasay Rotonda) is a station on the Manila LRT Yellow Line (LRT-1). Like all other LRT-1 stations, EDSA station is above-ground. The station is located on the intersection of Taft Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, or EDSA, one of Metro Manila's main thoroughfares. The station was named after EDSA, which in turn is named after Epifanio de los Santos, a noted historian.
The station is the second station for trains headed to North Avenue, the twenty-first station for trains headed to Baclaran, and is one of the four LRT stations serving Pasay City, the others are Gil Puyat, Libertad and Baclaran. Its convenient location has helped create many businesses in the area, from the number of hotels and motels to restaurants and shops, with a good majority of them being a short walk from the station.

Famous quotes containing the word station:
“How soon country people forget. When they fall in love with a city it is forever, and it is like forever. As though there never was a time when they didnt love it. The minute they arrive at the train station or get off the ferry and glimpse the wide streets and the wasteful lamps lighting them, they know they are born for it. There, in a city, they are not so much new as themselves: their stronger, riskier selves.”
—Toni Morrison (b. 1931)
