Edmund Lynch was born on May 19, 1885 in Baltimore, Maryland to Richard Lynch and Jennie Vernon Smith Lynch. Edmund Calvert Lynch attended the Boys' Latin School of Maryland in Baltimore and graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1907.
