As of March 2010 after returning home to South Carolina for a family visit, Ed had applied for a job outside of ice hockey with soft drinks giant Pepsi in the Carolinas area. His application was successful and Ed won't be returning to Manchester Phoenix and is now considered retired.

Famous quotes containing the words retirement and/or ice:

Adultery itself in its principle is many times nothing but a curious inquisition after, and envy of another man’s enclosed pleasures: and there have been many who refused fairer objects that they might ravish an enclosed woman from her retirement and single possessor.
    Jeremy Taylor (1613–1667)

Goodness and evil never share the same road, just as ice and charcoal never share the same container.
    Chinese proverb.
