ECMAScript For XML - Browser Support

Browser Support

E4X is supported by Mozilla's Rhino, used in OpenOffice.org and several other projects, and SpiderMonkey, used in Firefox, Thunderbird, and other XUL-based applications. It is also supported by Tamarin, the JavaScript engine used in the Flash virtual machine. It is not supported by Nitro (Safari), V8 (Google Chrome), Carakan (Opera), nor Internet Explorer.

As of Firefox 10, E4X syntax is no longer accepted in SpiderMonkey when ECMAStrict 5 "strict mode" is enabled. According to Brendan Eich, "This thus signals start of deprecation for E4X in SpiderMonkey." and as of Firefox 17, E4X will likely be disabled by default

Famous quotes containing the word support:

They [women] can use their abilities to support each other, even as they develop more effective and appropriate ways of dealing with power.... Women do not need to diminish other women ... [they] need the power to advance their own development, but they do not “need” the power to limit the development of others.
    Jean Baker Miller (20th century)
