Squash
The standard of squash at Ebbisham is strong. A league system operates every five weeks where members are invited to play other members of a similar standard. If they win, they are promoted, lose and they are relegated. There are also competitions every year. The men's and women's open, handicap and plate tournaments, as well as doubles, veterans and vintage tournaments, are always well attended. The current men's open champion is Greg Lamond, and women's open Sarah Hudspeth.
The Junior Standard is strong, and Jo Robinson has created a strong crop of junior players with six teams operating in seven divisions. They have won the top division three times in a row and are widely regarded as the best junior club in Surrey.
There are also three men's teams, two women's and a veterans' team.

Famous quotes containing the word squash:
“I am filling the room
with the words from my pen.
Words leak out of it like a miscarriage.
I am zinging words out into the air
and they come back like squash balls.
Yet there is silence.”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
