Vision Series
The EGSC Vision Series is a privately funded initiative which brings programs of cultural and intellectual enrichment to East Georgia State College and the Swainsboro-Emanuel County area. Noteworthy speakers who have visited East Georgia State College include President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter, poet Maya Angelou, former Atlanta mayor and U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young, broadcast journalist Cokie Roberts, author and television commentator Bruce Feiler, and former Chief Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court Leah Ward Sears. Vision Series lectures and concerts hosted at the college are free and open to the public.
The Vision Series also sponsors field trips to historical sites and other locations of educational interest, such as the Fox Theatre and the Georgia Aquarium. While students typically receive seating priority, the excursions are open to the public whenever space is available.

Famous quotes containing the words vision and/or series:
“I have a Vision of the Future, chum.
The workers flats in fields of soya beans
Tower up like silver pencils, score on score.”
—Sir John Betjeman (19061984)
“Rosalynn said, Jimmy, if we could only get Prime Minister Begin and President Sadat up here on this mountain for a few days, I believe they might consider how they could prevent another war between their countries. That gave me the idea, and a few weeks later, I invited both men to join me for a series of private talks. In September 1978, they both came to Camp David.”
—Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)
