Stamp
In 1969, the U.S. Postal Service issued a stamp (Scott # 1371) commemorating the Apollo 8 flight around the Moon. The stamp featured a detail (in color) of the Earthrise photograph, and the words, "In the beginning...", recalling the Apollo 8 Genesis reading.

Famous quotes containing the word stamp:
“Now stamp the Lords Prayer on a grain of rice,
A Bible-leaved of all the written woods
Strip to this tree: a rocking alphabet,
Genesis in the root, the scarecrow word,
And one lights language in the book of trees.”
—Dylan Thomas (19141953)
“The use of criticism, in periodical writing, is to sift, not to stamp a work.”
—Margaret Fuller (18101850)
“If she must teem,
Create her child of spleen, that it may live
And be a thwart disnatured torment to her!
Let it stamp wrinkles in her brow of youth,
With cadent tears fret channels in her cheeks,
Turn all her mothers pains and benefits
To laughter and contempt, that she may feel
How sharper than a serpents tooth it is
To have a thankless child!”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
