Future
During his 2006 State of the State Address, Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne declared his vision of the park's future:
"Eagle Island State Park along the Boise River, with our rapid population growth, will become as valuable to the Treasure Valley as Central Park is to New York City. But unless we make the investment, Eagle Island’s potential will not be realized. My proposal adds needed improvements: campgrounds, equestrian trails, and more greenbelt along the Boise River."

Famous quotes containing the word future:
“If nations always moved from one set of furnished rooms to anotherand always into a better setthings might be easier, but the trouble is that there is no one to prepare the new rooms. The future is worse than the oceanthere is nothing there. It will be what men and circumstances make it.”
—Alexander Herzen (18121870)
“The future is built on brains, not prom court, as most people can tell you after attending their high school reunion. But youd never know it by talking to kids or listening to the messages they get from the culture and even from their schools.”
—Anna Quindlen (b. 1953)
“Peace does not appear so distant as it did. I hope it will come soon, and come to stay; and so come as to be worth the keeping in all future time. It will then have been proved that, among free men, there can be no successful appeal from the ballot to the bullet; and that they who take such appeal are sure to lose their case, and pay the cost.”
—Abraham Lincoln (18091865)
