In the military, dwell time is the amount of time that service members spend in their home nation between deployments to war zones. Dwell time is designed to allow service members a mental and physical break from combat and to give them time with their families. It is an important component of long term military readiness.
Famous quotes containing the words dwell and/or time:
“I dwell in Possibility
A fairer House than Prose
More numerous of Windows
Superiorfor Doors”
—Emily Dickinson (18301886)
“I feel free as a bird. Im in a unique position because Im the boss. I buy what I like. I initiate things. I can experiment with all kinds of things I think the kids might be interested in. Nobody interferes. For me, its no chore to go to work. Most people never get to do this at any time in their lives.”
—Sarah Houghton, U.S. librarian. As quoted in Working, book 9, by Studs Terkel (1973)
