Dundonald Road tram stop is a halt on Tramlink (Route 3 – New Addington to Wimbledon) to the south of Wimbledon town centre, in the London Borough of Merton. Access is direct from the pavement on the North side of Dundonald Road at the site of the old level crossing (where the old, now demolished, signal box used to lie on the South side).
At this point, the track follows the route of the old West Croydon to Wimbledon Line between Wimbledon and Croydon, although there was no station on the Dundonald Road site.
The tram stop is in close proximity to Dundonald Park Recreational Grounds and the Dundonald Primary School.
Famous quotes containing the words road and/or stop:
“Hail ye small sweet courtesies of life, for smooth do ye make the road of it! like grace and beauty which beget inclinations to love at first sight; tis ye who open this door and let the stranger in.”
—Laurence Sterne (17131768)
“So stop looking blue
And start serving up your sensations
Before its too late;
Just please me for two generations
Youll be truly great.”
—Philip Larkin (19221986)
