Famous quotes containing the words olympic and/or stalwart:

    Like Olympic medals and tennis trophies, all they signified was that the owner had done something of no benefit to anyone more capably than everyone else.
    Joseph Heller (b. 1923)

    There lived a wife at Usher’s Well,
    And a wealthy wife was she;
    She had three stout and stalwart sons,
    And sent them o’er the sea.
    —Unknown. The Wife of Usher’s Well (l. 1–4)
