Current Shows
Back2Basics is Ireland's only old school dance music show that plays only 12" vinyl records. It airs every Sunday at 9.30-11pm and online via the Dublin South FM website. All shows are uploaded to iTunes, with each one getting over 5,000 listeners worldwide (reputed to be growing at 500 listeners per month). The show is the only one of it's kind to play classic house, disco, electro and hip hop; it also features some modern music, which the presenters feel sound old school, or are influenced by old music or which they deem to be either future classics or are particularly unique. Local dance music has also started to feature, particularly from Irish records labels. Notable guests on the show have included former Hacienda DJ and founder of M People, Mike Pickering and singer Rowetta of The Happy Mondays. The show is presented by Englishman Simon Palmer and Irishman Padraic Marren, using records from Simon's collection.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or shows:
“This is no argument against teaching manners to the young. On the contrary, it is a fine old tradition that ought to be resurrected from its current mothballs and put to work...In fact, children are much more comfortable when they know the guide rules for handling the social amenities. Its no more fun for a child to be introduced to a strange adult and have no idea what to say or do than it is for a grownup to go to a formal dinner and have no idea what fork to use.”
—Leontine Young (20th century)
“One writer says that Browns peculiar monomania made him to be dreaded by the Missourians as a supernatural being. Sure enough, a hero in the midst of us cowards is always so dreaded. He is just that thing. He shows himself superior to nature. He has a spark of divinity in him.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
