Dougie Poynter - Other Work

Other Work

Before joining McFly at the age of 15, Poynter was in a band named 'Ataiz'. In 2010, Dougie and three other people, including Motion In The Ocean and Radio:ACTIVE producer Jason Perry, started a clothing line called 'Zukie', named after Poynter's pet lizard. Dougie owns 30 per cent of the business. In early 2011, it was confirmed that Poynter had started his own clothing range, by the name of 'Saint Kidd', a pirate-based company inspired by William Kidd. Dougie and fellow bandmate Tom Fletcher have a published book titled "The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas", about a boy who gets a pet dinosaur for Christmas. The book was released in October 2012.

Famous quotes containing the word work:

Parenting can be established as a time-share job, but mothers are less good “switching off” their parent identity and turning to something else. Many women envy the father’s ability to set clear boundaries between home and work, between being an on-duty and an off-duty parent.... Women work very hard to maintain a closeness to their child. Father’s value intimacy with a child, but often do not know how to work to maintain it.
    Terri Apter (20th century)

Madness is the absolute break with the work of art; it forms the constitutive moment of abolition, which dissolves in time the truth of the work of art.
    Michel Foucault (1926–1984)
