Dorothy Moore - Farish Street Records

Farish Street Records

Moore started the record label Farish Street Records in 2002. The label is named to honor the street and neighborhood where Dorothy was raised. Not far from her childhood home, Farish Street was the home to live and juke blues music that filled Dorothy's head and heart even in her early years.

Moore's albums Please Come Home For Christmas, Gittin' Down Live, and I'm Doing Alright were released on the label.

Famous quotes containing the words street and/or records:

I mount the steps and ring the bell, turning
Wearily, as one would turn to nod good-bye to Rochefoucauld,
If the street were time and he at the end of the street,
And I say, “Cousin Harriet, here is the Boston Evening Transcript.”
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

In America, the photographer is not simply the person who records the past, but the one who invents it.
    Susan Sontag (b. 1933)
