Donny Schatz

Donny Schatz (born August 10, 1977 in Minot, North Dakota) is a World of Outlaws sprint car driver. He was the 2006 World of Outlaws sprint car champion. He also won the 2006 Knoxville Nationals. In 2007 he won The King's Royal at Eldora Speedway, as well as the 2007 Knoxville Nationals for the second time. He repeated his World of Outlaws championship with 16 wins.

Schatz started his racing career at 11 in go karts and moved to 410 sprints as a 15 year old at Red River Valley Speedway. Schatz moved to 358 sprints and The World of Outlaws series three seasons later as an 18 year old.

Schatz moved to Tony Stewart Racing in 2008, with Clorox sponsoring the car through its Armor All brand. Also won the championship in 2008.

Prestigious wins include the 2006, 2007 and 2008 and 2009 Knoxville Nationals, the 2007 and 2009 King's Royal at Eldora Speedway, the 2006 and 2007 Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup, the 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2007 National Open at William's Grove Speedway, and the inaugural World of Oultlaws World Finals at the Dirt Track at Lowe's Motor Speedway in 2008. The 2009 King's Royal win was Schatz's 98th, inching him closer to 100 career WoO wins and initiation into an elite club of drivers including Steve and Mark Kinser, Sammy Swindell and Doug Wolfgang, to mention a handful. At Willams Grove Speedway in 2010, Donny went for a violent barrel roll, and escaped uninjured.

He was a 1995 graduate of Minot High School and currently resides in Fargo, North Dakota.
