Reception
Donkey is considered to be the breakout character of the series, and many of his quotes has entered the popularal cultural lexicon since the film was released, such as "We can stay up late, swapping manly stories, and in the morning - i'll make waffles!" and "I like that boulder. That is a NICE boulder". Several critics have praised Eddie Murphy's performance of Donkey and the character is often cited to be one of the best things about the series.
