Family
Cabrera is married to translator, theater artist, and librettist Niloufar Talebi. In March 2011 he conducted the world premiere of Atash Sorushan (Fire Angels), a reflection on the decade following the September 11 attacks, composed by Mark Grey to a libretto by Talebi. Cabrera also conducted the work for its West Coast premiere at Hertz Hall in Berkeley, California.
