Directory Services Restore Mode - Partial Deprecation

Partial Deprecation

Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Server has introduced a new Active Directory "Recycle Bin" feature, which works analogous to the well-known Windows deleted files wastebin. Using the ADRB functionality allows on-line restoration of accidentally deleted AD objects, alleviating the need to take a DC off-line for minor recovery tasks (e.g. revive a few users or OU). The new "AD Recycle Bin" facility is currently only available in fully Windows 2008 R2 based server environments. Also known as Native 2008 R2 Domain and Forest Levels.

Famous quotes containing the word partial:

The only coöperation which is commonly possible is exceedingly partial and superficial; and what little true coöperation there is, is as if it were not, being a harmony inaudible to men. If a man has faith, he will coöperate with equal faith everywhere; if he has not faith, he will continue to live like the rest of the world, whatever company he is joined to.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
