Direct Energy promotes volunteerism amongst its employees within their local communities. Direct Energy claims that its employees logged more than 10,000 hours of volunteer service across North America in 2010. Through the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy,Direct Energy employees planted 400 planters throughout downtown Pittsburgh.
