Criticisms
Vitale has been accused of being biased for Duke, its basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, and most teams in the ACC. He has mentioned Duke frequently during broadcasts, even when Duke was not playing. Temple head coach John Chaney once said "You can't get Dick Vitale to say 15 words without Duke coming out of his mouth". Detractors have called him "Duke Vitale" or "Dookie V", a take-off on his "Dickie V" nickname. {{citation needed|date=August 2012} :)
