Dick Kulpa - Cracked Magazine

Cracked Magazine

In 2000, he acquired the national humor magazine Cracked and became its editor and publisher. Kulpa, contractually gagged from talking about it, says the magazine suffered from sudden changes in financing and unexpected distribution cuts. When the distribution company's account executive himself openly questioned the difference between Cracked's existing huge 62,000 rack database with its actual low 15,000 rack distribution, he was immediately taken off the title by the distributor. Kulpa sold the magazine in 2005.

Famous quotes containing the words cracked and/or magazine:

Families have always been in flux and often in crisis; they have never lived up to nostalgic notions about “the way things used to be.” But that doesn’t mean the malaise and anxiety people feel about modern families are delusions, that everything would be fine if we would only realize that the past was not all it’s cracked up to be. . . . Even if things were not always right in families of the past, it seems clear that some things have newly gone wrong.
    Stephanie Coontz (20th century)

For with this desire of physical beauty mingled itself early the fear of death—the fear of death intensified by the desire of beauty.
Walter Pater 1839–1894, British writer, educator. originally published in Macmillan’s Magazine (Aug. 1878)
