Dianic Wicca - Family Tree

Family Tree

Traditions derived from Zsuzsanna Budapest:

  • Dianic Tradition/Dianic Wicca, a Feminist Goddess women's tradition of Wicca started by Zsuzsanna Budapest and her book, "The Holy Book of Women's Mysteries."
  • Dianic Witches, who may have been inspired by Z Budapest, the New York Redstocking's W.I.T.C.H. manifesto, or woman's spirituality movements, who emphasize self-initiation, womanism and non-hierarchical organization. Some Dianics fall into this category, acknowledging Z. Budapest as a foremother, and do not participate in the initiation/ordination lineage of Dianic Wicca.

Other related traditions:

  • McFarland Dianic, a Neopagan Faerie Faith lineage tradition started by Morgan McFarland; one of relatively few Dianic traditions which accepts male members.
  • The Living Temple of Diana, founded by Devin Hunter; accepts members of all genders. Stems from "The Cult of Diana" a Diana-centered form of traditional witchcraft. Not affiliated with Temple Of Diana or McFarland Dianic Traditions.

Famous quotes containing the words family and/or tree:

... a family I know ... bought an acre in the country on which to build a house. For many years, while they lacked the money to build, they visited the site regularly and picnicked on a knoll, the site’s most attractive feature. They liked so much to visualize themselves as always there, that when they finally built they put the house on the knoll. But then the knoll was gone. Somehow they had not realized they would destroy it and lose it by supplanting it with themselves.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)

It never had been inside the room,
And only one of the two
Was afraid in an oft-repeated dream
Of what the tree might do.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
