Dharma Centre

A Dharma centre is a non-monastic Buddhist centre in a community.

According to the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition, they preserve and spread the teachings of Buddhism and may have lay residents. According to the New Kadampa Tradition, Dharma centres provide the focus of a local Buddhist community and provide facilities for study, practice and living by moral precepts.

Famous quotes containing the word centre:

Belief and love,—a believing love will relieve us of a vast load of care. O my brothers, God exists. There is a soul at the centre of nature, and over the will of every man, so that none of us can wrong the universe.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
