Song Information
The single was not released in the United Kingdom and didn't benefit from large-scale promotion like "Dragostea din tei". It reached #4 in Euro Hot 100.
In the DiscO-Zone version, the track featured a similar sound to O-Zone's previous hit, originally circulating on the Internet as an allegedly 'original version' of the "Dragostea din tei" song, due to the very similar chorus. At the start of the predecessor's music video the music playing before the band members get on to the airplane is "Despre tine".
There have been several remixes of "Despre Tine", the most notorious is the Marvin and Prezioso Radio edit, which has the same vocal structure but a completely different tune.
"Despre tine" has proved to be a large hit in Portugal. In 2005, the band NexUS created an English version, called "About You...".
Sour Base also has covered "Despre Tine." The CD it was featured on ("Illicit Beats"), however, did not achieve good reviews on iTunes.

Famous quotes containing the words song and/or information:
“Writing, madam, ‘s a mechanic part of wit! A gentleman should never go beyond a song or a billet.”
—George Etherege (1635–1691)
“The real, then, is that which, sooner or later, information and reasoning would finally result in, and which is therefore independent of the vagaries of me and you. Thus, the very origin of the conception of reality shows that this conception essentially involves the notion of a COMMUNITY, without definite limits, and capable of a definite increase of knowledge.”
—Charles Sanders Peirce (1839–1914)
