Denman Wildlife Area

The Denman Wildlife Area (originally the Rogue Valley Game Management Area) is a wildlife management area located near Eagle Point, Oregon, in the United States. It was named in honor of Kenneth Denman, an attorney from nearby Medford, Oregon who lobbied for the creation of the area in 1954.

The area is adjacent to TouVelle State Recreation Site and the Upper and Lower Table Rock lava formations.

Famous quotes containing the words wildlife and/or area:

Russian forests crash down under the axe, billions of trees are dying, the habitations of animals and birds are layed waste, rivers grow shallow and dry up, marvelous landscapes are disappearing forever.... Man is endowed with creativity in order to multiply that which has been given him; he has not created, but destroyed. There are fewer and fewer forests, rivers are drying up, wildlife has become extinct, the climate is ruined, and the earth is becoming ever poorer and uglier.
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)

... nothing is more human than substituting the quantity of words and actions for their character. But using imprecise words is very similar to using lots of words, for the more imprecise a word is, the greater the area it covers.
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)
