Famous quotes containing the words vision and/or statement:

“With the supermarket as our temple and the singing commercial as our litany, are we likely to fire the world with an irresistible vision of America’s exalted purpose and inspiring way of life?”
    —Adlai Stevenson (1900–1965)

“Truth is used to vitalize a statement rather than devitalize it. Truth implies more than a simple statement of fact. “I don’t have any whisky,” may be a fact but it is not a truth.”
    —William Burroughs (b. 1914)
