Delta Kappa Epsilon - Purpose of Chapters

Purpose of Chapters

One of Delta Kappa Epsilon's focuses within each Chapter is on community service in addition to the social aspect that goes along with most social Greek fraternities.

Each Chapter competes for a number of awards that includes leadership, chapter improvements, and community service. Each of these areas is used in awarding the overall award called the Lions Trophy.

The 2011 Lions Trophy winner was Psi chapter at the University of Alabama. The chapter won this award in the wake of sponsoring a food drive to help give relief to the Tuscaloosa community devastated by tornadoes.

Famous quotes containing the words purpose of, purpose and/or chapters:

A major misunderstanding of child rearing has been the idea that meeting a child’s needs is an end in itself, for the purpose of the child’s mental health. Mothers have not understood that this is but one step in social development, the goal of which is to help a child begin to consider others. As a result, they often have not considered their children but have instead allowed their children’s reality to take precedence, out of a fear of damaging them emotionally.
    Elaine Heffner (20th century)

...Often the accurate answer to a usage question begins, “It depends.” And what it depends on most often is where you are, who you are, who your listeners or readers are, and what your purpose in speaking or writing is.
    Kenneth G. Wilson (b. 1923)

Never did I read such tosh. As for the first two chapters we will let them pass, but the 3rd 4th 5th 6th—merely the scratching of pimples on the body of the bootboy at Claridges.
    Virginia Woolf (1882–1941)
