Degory Priest was one of the first Separatists to arrive in Leiden, Holland, residing in that city by November 1611. He was a professional hatter. Famous quotes containing the words life in, life and/or holland:

We all come from our own little planets. That’s why we’re all different. That’s what makes life interesting.
    Robert E. Sherwood (1896–1955)

Parenting is not logical. If it were, we would never have to read a book, never need a family therapist, and never feel the urge to call a close friend late at night for support after a particularly trying bedtime scene. . . . Jeanne Elium (20th century)

The tragedy of Northern Ireland is that it is now a society in which the dead console the living.
    —Jack Holland (b. 1947)
