Defense Information School

The Defense Information School, or DINFOS, is a United States Department of Defense (DoD) school located at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. Members from all branches of the U.S. military, DoD civilians and international military personnel attend DINFOS for training in public affairs, print journalism, photojournalism, photography, television and radio broadcasting, lithography, equipment maintenance and various forms of multimedia. DINFOS fulfills the Department of Defense's self-professed need for an internal corps of professional journalists, broadcasters, and public affairs professionals. The American Council on Education recommends college credit for most DINFOS courses.

Famous quotes containing the words defense, information and/or school:

Hence that general is skilful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend; and he is skilful in defense whose opponent does not know what to attack.
    Sun Tzu (6th–5th century B.C.)

Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information upon it.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

Nevertheless, no school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children’s best interests. Parents have every right to understand what is happening to their children at school, and teachers have the responsibility to share that information without prejudicial judgment.... Such communication, which can only be in a child’s interest, is not possible without mutual trust between parent and teacher.
    Dorothy H. Cohen (20th century)
