The player has a choice between 4 street fighters: Briggs, a dishonorably discharged soldier (balanced skills); Proof, an ex-superbike racer (fast and charismatic but not as strong as the other characters); Tank, a massive Japanese fighter (very slow and uncharismatic with low defense but strong) and the Disc Jockey Spider (resilient but slow and uncharismatic), although the story is the same for each of them.
