CBA Magnet Program
Deerfield High is one of only two schools in Broward County to have a Magnet Program in Communications and Broadcast Arts. The school receives state funding that they can use to procure the latest in journalistic equipment. The program has three specializations that students can choose to pursue after completing at least one class in each (known as the "Magnet Wheel").

Famous quotes containing the words magnet and/or program:
“It has lately been drawn to your correspondent’s attention that, at social gatherings, she is not the human magnet she would be. Indeed, it turns out that as a source of entertainment, conviviality, and good fun, she ranks somewhere between a sprig of parsley and a single ice- skate. It would appear, from the actions of the assembled guests, that she is about as hot company as a night nurse.”
—Dorothy Parker (1893–1967)
“They had their fortunes to make, everything to gain and nothing to lose. They were schooled in and anxious for debates; forcible in argument; reckless and brilliant. For them it was but a short and natural step from swaying juries in courtroom battles over the ownership of land to swaying constituents in contests for office. For the lawyer, oratory was the escalator that could lift a political candidate to higher ground.”
—Federal Writers’ Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
