Center For Information Technology
The Center for Information Technology (CIT) is a Henrico County Public Schools specialty center that prepares students for higher education and careers in computer science and information technology. The Center has its own mathematics and computer science faculty. Admission to the Center is based on an extensive application process for rising freshmen. Those who are accepted receive a controversial small GPA boost after two years of Center classes. The Center is directed by Lynne Norris, who replaced former chairman Steve P. Long in 2009.

Famous quotes containing the words center, information and/or technology:
“I dont think Americas the center of the world anymore. I think African women will lead the way [in] ... womens liberation ... The African woman, shes got a country, shes got the flag, shes got her own army, got the navy. She doesnt have a racism problem. Shes not afraid that if she speaks up, her man will say goodbye to her.”
—Faith Ringgold (b. 1934)
“But while ignorance can make you insensitive, familiarity can also numb. Entering the second half-century of an information age, our cumulative knowledge has changed the level of what appalls, what stuns, what shocks.”
—Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
“Radio put technology into storytelling and made it sick. TV killed it. Then you were locked into somebody elses sighting of that story. You no longer had the benefit of making that picture for yourself, using your imagination. Storytelling brings back that humanness that we have lost with TV. You talk to children and they dont hear you. They are television addicts. Mamas bring them home from the hospital and drag them up in front of the set and the great stare-out begins.”
—Jackie Torrence (b. 1944)
