On December 1, 2012, the PlayStation Vita port of the game, Dead or Alive 5 Plus, was revealed to be due for release early in 2013 and to feature "expanding patch". Five days later, the new version was announced to arrive in March 2013 and to also feature touchscreen-based moves, new training controls and "a new display of advanced frame data that reveals twice the amount of information for each move compared to previous versions." Another new feature is an optional first-person view during the fights.
