Dead Moon - Equipment

Equipment

Toody is known to play a late-1960's semi-hollow Vox teardrop bass, due to its shorter-scale length and ease of use. She often plays through a V-4 Ampeg and Ampeg SVT bass amp head(s) and has also used an Ampeg 4x12 Speaker Cab live. In Europe, Toody uses a VHT 2-15 Speaker cab. Fred uses a 50-watt Marshall Red Head and a Guild Thunderbird Guitar. He also has a 4x12 cab in the US and one in Europe. Fred and Toody both prefer Shure SM58 mics. Andrew used a kick, snare, hat, floor tom, and one ride cymbal, from the school of thought that "less is more." During each show, Andrew would pour a beer onto the floor tom and splash beer everywhere. Before every show, Andrew would also light a candle on a Jack Daniels bottle which was attached to a kick drum where the rack toms are normally. Fred, Toody, and Andrew would then have a short ritual prayer, and then "throw down" until they were done.

Famous quotes containing the word equipment:

At the heart of the educational process lies the child. No advances in policy, no acquisition of new equipment have their desired effect unless they are in harmony with the child, unless they are fundamentally acceptable to him.
—Central Advisory Council for Education. Children and Their Primary Schools (Plowden Report)

Why not draft executive and management brains to prepare and produce the equipment the $21-a-month draftee must use and forget this dollar-a-year tommyrot? Would we send an army into the field under a dollar-a-year General who had to be home Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays?
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

Pop artists deal with the lowly trivia of possessions and equipment that the present generation is lugging along with it on its safari into the future.
    —J.G. (James Graham)
