- Paul Scheuring - creator and executive producer of Prison Break (Fox). Class of 1987.
- Carol Greider - winner of Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine (2009), Class of 1979.
- Nate Boyden - professional soccer player.
- Denise Curry - all-time leading scorer and rebounder in basketball at UCLA, gold medalist at the 1984 Summer Olympics, played nine years professionally and was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame
- Malachi Davis - ran in the 400-meter and 4x400-meter at the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2005 World Championships in Athletics – Men's 4 × 400 metres relay for the United Kingdom team.
- Jason Fisk - 12-year NFL defensive tackle
- Michael Franti - musician and peace activist.
- Gina Miles - silver medalist in individual eventing at the 2008 Summer Olympics

- Paul Wulff - football assistant coach with the NFL's San Francisco 49ers and former head coach at Washington State University
- Craig Wilson, 1975 - professional water polo goalie, US Olympian in 1984, 1988, and 1992
- Thretton Palamo - professional rugby player
- Butterscotch in the final round of America's Got Talent as a beatboxer/singer/pianist (performed for DHS in early 2008)
- Koosha Toofan (Class of 2002) - placed 2nd in the nationally recognized MuscleMania "Model America" Championships in Orange County, California.

- Jeremiah Godby - ultramarathon runner and second youngest male to ever run across the USA.
