David Nelson (software Developer)

David Nelson (born May 25, 1993) is an American software developer and entrepreneur, known for his role in the leadership and development of Muziic and subsequent software projects in the music industry.

David and his father, Mark Nelson, developed Muziic over the course of one year before launching the service in February 2009 when David was fifteen years old. The teenager came up with the idea to create a music-focused media player using open APIs (including YouTube's), after his father expressed interest in managing a YouTube-powered music website. On March 8, 2009, CNET reported on the debut of Muziic. David Nelson has received particular attention in their coverage of the story, due to his age, ideas, and development skills.

In 2013 ABC News reported on the launch of a video game company, Mass Threat, that David and father launched. The company's first game is called "50 Ways to Survive" and was created in partnership with the Grammy-award winning band Train.

David, who lives in Bettendorf, Iowa, switched from a public high school to a private online high school to devote more time to his business.

Famous quotes containing the words david and/or nelson:

Surely, we are provided with senses as well fitted to penetrate the spaces of the real, the substantial, the eternal, as these outward are to penetrate the material universe. Veias, Menu, Zoroaster, Socrates, Christ, Shakespeare, Swedenborg,—these are some of our astronomers.
    —Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Where did we ever get the crazy idea that in order to make children do better, first we have to make them feel worse? Think of the last time you felt humiliated or treated unfairly. Did you feel like cooperating or doing better?
    —Jane Nelson (20th century)
