Work With Govinda
David Dhawan formed a hit team with Actor Govinda. They paired up for the first time in the not so successful Taaqatwar (1989). Their first above-average success was Swarg (1991). After that, there was almost no looking back. Shola Aur Shabnam (1992) was a hit followed by possibly the biggest hit of their careers in Aankhen (1993). David Dhawan then directed Govinda in a marathon of hits namely, Raja Babu (film), Coolie No. 1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Deewana Mastana, Hero No. 1, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Haseena Maan Jayegi. Their first failure in many years was the delayed Banarasi Babu. They met with big box office success with films like Jodi No. 1. Their next huge hit came with Partner (2007) which co-starred Salman Khan.
If apart from Govinda, one can think of any other actor who formed a successful pairing with Dhawan, then it is Salman Khan. The actor-director delivered hits in films like Judwaa, Biwi No.1, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and Partner and an average earner in Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge.
