Famous quotes containing the words political, bids and/or considered:

The political arena leaves one no alternative, one must either be a dunce or a rogue.
    Emma Goldman (1869–1940)

The only thing of weight that can be said against modern honour is that it is directly opposite to religion. The one bids you bear injuries with patience, the other tells you if you don’t resent them, you are not fit to live.
    Bernard Mandeville (1670–1733)

Mad? Is one who has solved the secret of life to be considered mad?
—Edward T. Lowe. Frank Strayer. Dr. von Niemann (Lionel Atwill)
