Dave Pearce - BBC Radio 2

BBC Radio 2

Dave started a new 10 part weekly Thursday 1 hour nostalgic dance show on air 11pm till midnight on April 14, 2011. He also sat in on Janice Long's show whilst she was away (22-26th August).

BBC Radio 2 announced on the 26th March 2012 that Dave would be joining the station permanently, with a brand new 2 hour Saturday night show 'Dave Pearce: Dance Years'. The show launched on the 14th April 2012 at 10pm.

Pearce said his new Radio 2 show would be "like one big house party with me rummaging through my record crates". "There are plenty of memorable tracks from my Radio 1 Dance Anthems days alongside some hidden gems from the 70s and 80s. It's a chance to relive and share some great memories from the dance floor."

To err is human, but to really foul things up requires a computer.
—Anonymous. quoted in “Quote Unquote,” Feb. 22, 1982, BBC Radio 4.

The word “conservative” is used by the BBC as a portmanteau word of abuse for anyone whose views differ from the insufferable, smug, sanctimonious, naive, guilt-ridden, wet, pink orthodoxy of that sunset home of the third-rate minds of that third-rate decade, the nineteen-sixties.
    Norman Tebbit (b. 1931)

... the ... radio station played a Chopin polonaise. On all the following days news bulletins were prefaced by Chopin—preludes, etudes, waltzes, mazurkas. The war became for me a victory, known in advance, Chopin over Hitler.
