Data Scrubbing
Data Integrity is a high priority in computer data writing, reading, storage, transmission, or processing, computer operating systems and computer storage and transmission systems. However, it is known that Hardware RAID has some issues with data integrity and that none of the currently widespread file systems provide sufficient protection against Data corruption. To adress this, Data scrubbing is a method in information technology for routine checks of all inconsistencies in data and, in general, a prevention of hardware or software failure. This 'scrubbing' feature is commonly used in memory, disk arrays, FPGAs or file systems as a mechanism of data error detection and correction.

Famous quotes containing the words data and/or scrubbing:
“Mental health data from the 1950s on middle-aged women showed them to be a particularly distressed group, vulnerable to depression and feelings of uselessness. This isnt surprising. If society tells you that your main role is to be attractive to men and you are getting crows feet, and to be a mother to children and yours are leaving home, no wonder you are distressed.”
—Grace Baruch (20th century)
“For my people lending their strength to the years: to the gone
years and the now years and the maybe years, washing ironing cooking scrubbing sewing mending hoeing plowing digging planting pruning patching dragging along never gaining never reaping never knowing and never understanding;”
—Margaret Abigail Walker (b. 1915)
