Famous quotes containing the words darley and/or abbey:

    In his green den the murmuring seal
    Close by his sleek companion lies;
    While singly we to bedward steal,
    And close in fruitless sleep our eyes.
    —George Darley (1795–1846)

    The Abbey always reminds me of that old toast, “Above lofty timbers, the walls around are bare, echoing to our laughter, as though the dead were there.”
    Garrett Fort (1900–1945)
