Peak Oil Controversy
While Yergin has been invited by the press β including Fox Business, The New York Times, Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal, β to speak on energy issues, his predictions and assertions have been attacked by critics from a peak oil perspective. For example, Jean Laherrere contends that Yergin's predictions on energy production and prices have omitted key facts, leading Yergin to draw incorrect conclusions. Others have criticized his predictions and that of CERA. An essay that Yergin published on the peak oil controversy in the Wall Street Journal aroused further criticism from the peak oil community. He also addressed peak oil in a chapter in The Quest entitled βIs the World Running Out of Oil?β
