Lapin has had breakfast with Karl Rove and considers himself a "close friend" of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. He also has Zig Ziglar as a frequent guest in his house, and is friends with Professor Walter Block of Loyola University of New Orleans. U.S. Representative Dana Rohrabacher refers to Lapin as “my rabbi” and also states that he is an expert in his field. Conservative activist Grover Norquist is considered friends of Lapin and refers to him as the opposite e of a Jew who is liberal.
