Legacy
Among Brewster's United States Senate staff in the 1960s were intern Nancy D'Alessandro (later Pelosi) of Baltimore, who as a Congresswoman from California would become Democratic leader and, in 2007, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Steny Hoyer, who served on Senator Brewster's staff for five years from 1962 to 1966 and who served as House Majority Leader to Pelosi.
