Danger Cloud Service Discontinuation
On February 28, 2011 tech blog Engadget reported Microsoft will discontinue Danger's cloud service on May 31, 2011. After that date, Sidekicks will no longer have access to any data services, though voice service will still function.
In Australia, the Telstra hiptop service was continued to be offered for existing customers after May 31, 2011 when the T-Mobile USA Sidekick service was shut down. However, it was announced that the hiptop service for Telstra customers would be discontinued on October 4, 2011. Selected affected customers will receive a free Samsung Galaxy 551 to replace their hiptop devices.
Since the Telstra Hiptop service was discontinued in October 4, 2011, there are no longer any carriers worldwide offering any form of Danger data service.
