In each show, there is an element that the skaters are required to perform as part of their routines. These required elements have included:

  • Assisted and unassisted jumps
  • Use of a prop
  • Forming a spiral position
  • Flying above the ice, suspended by a harness
  • A one footed spin
  • Shadow steps
  • Classic moves of Torvill and Dean, sometimes with a choice between them
  • Cross rolls
  • Toe step sequences
  • Pair spin
  • One unique move
  • Solo skate
  • Change of edge
