The dance it is known in both Albania and Greece, as a part of the Epirote music in Greece and Cham music in Albania. In both countries the dance is primarily known as the Dance of Osman Taka, or Samantaka in Greece. This dance is supposed to have been the dance of the Souliotes. But, it is also known as 'Arvanitiko', 'Tsamiko', 'Himariotiko' and 'Klephtico' in Greece.
