Dan Lungren
Daniel Edward "Dan" Lungren (born September 22, 1946) is the outgoing U.S. Representative for California's 3rd congressional district, serving from 2005 to 2013. The district covered most of Sacramento County and part of Solano County, as well as all of Alpine, Amador, and Calaveras counties. However, because of redistricting, Alpine, Amador, and Calaveras counties are now in a different Congressional district, CA-04, for the November 6, 2012, general election. The new district boundaries for California's 3rd district include parts of the counties of Solano, Sutter, Yolo, Yuba, Colusa, Glenn, Lake, and Sacramento counties. Lungren is a member of the Republican Party and the Republican Study Committee.
Lungren previously represented the Long Beach area in Congress from 1979 to 1989, served as California's Attorney General from 1991 to 1999, and was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for Governor of California in 1998, losing to Democrat Gray Davis, who was later recalled.

“Upon entering my vein, the drug would start a warm edge that would surge along until the brain consumed it in a gentle explosion. It began in the back of the neck and rose rapidly until I felt such pleasure that the world sympathizing took on a soft, lofty appeal.”
