Dalton Grant

Dalton Grant (born 8 April 1966) is a British high jumper, who has won a total number of four national titles for Great Britain (AAA Championships) in the men's high jump event. His personal best jump is 2.36 metres, achieved at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo. He has a personal indoor best of 2.37 metres. In 1997 at the World Championships Dalton opened with a world record jump of 2.32 for an opening height.

Grant was born in Hackney to parents from Jamaica and lived in Brooke Road, Upper Clapton. He went to Hackney Downs School where he started to high jump.

He was a board director of the London 2012 Olympic bid team and he was also a captain of the Great Britain & NI team. Grant was appointed president of the South of England Athletics Assosciation for 2010-2011. Dalton has set up the Dalton Grant Academy in Trinidad and Tobago. He is also a patron of Mossbourne Academy.
