Use
Twelve members from the Third Indian Expedition to Antarctica team were the first to spend the winter in Dakshin Gangotri] from March 1984 to March 1985. Later on, another permanent station, Maitri, was established in 1989. The final decommissioning of the station was done on February 25, 1990 and converted into a supply base during the Ninth Indian Expedition to Antarctica.
